The much-awaited match between Lucknow Super Giants and Sunrisers Hyderabad was a battle of giants that left the audience at the edge of their seats. Sunrisers Hyderabad began their chase with openers David Warner and Jonny Bairstow. The pair started off cautiously, scoring at a steady rate. However, they lost Bairstow in the fourth over to a brilliant catch from Sharma off the bowling of Jasprit Bumrah. Warner and new batsman Kane Williamson continued to build the innings, but the introduction of Ravindra Jadeja into the attack saw the dismissal of Warner in the eighth over.
Sunrisers Hyderabad were in trouble, but Williamson continued to bat well and was joined by Manish Pandey. The pair added some crucial runs, but the required run rate was creeping up. Williamson was dismissed in the 15th over, and the team was relying on Pandey to take them to victory. However, Lucknow Super Giants bowlers kept the pressure on, and Pandey was dismissed in the 18th over.
Sunrisers Hyderabad needed 22 runs off the last two overs, and it was a tall order. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Rashid Khan tried their best, but in the end, it was too much to ask. Lucknow Super Giants won the match by 12 runs, and the crowd went wild.
