Lauren Price MBE, Olympic gold medalist, will begin her 2023 campaign on March 11 in Paris as part of an international card.
The star of Team GB at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020 who last fought on the BOXXER: Heritage show before a sold-out swarm at The O2 in London last October, watched by a record crowd for an experience ladies’ game occasion on Sky with more than 2,000,000 watchers tuning in, when she stunningly halted Timea Belik in four rounds.
King Charles III presented Price (2-0, 1 KO) with an MBE in November of that year at an official royal ceremony at Windsor Castle in recognition of her contributions to the sport. Since his accession to the throne, this was the King’s first investiture ceremony.
The former Wales international footballer who turned professional fighter will now step up when she faces German opponent Naomi Mannes in Paris, where she famously qualified for the Olympic Games as an amateur. This will be her third professional fight to date.
Before losing to Kirstie Bavington of Great Britain in November of last year, Mannes, who was 6-1 with 4 knockouts, was undefeated in her attempt to win the EBU welterweight title.
But 28-year-old slick southpaw Price is upbeat and determined to make a big impression overseas in her bid to climb the welterweight rankings this year.
MBE Lauren Price stated: In my amateur career, I was proud to represent Great Britain all over the world. Going to Paris for my third professional bout, where I qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, gives me the same feeling.
I am aware that Naomi Mannes recently competed for the European title, so she is unquestionably a more formidable opponent. I can’t wait to travel to France and present my work to the world.

“We’re delighted to kick off this year with her on a really massive card, live on Sky Sports and Canal+, in what will be a very good test in her third fight,” the promoter stated.
“Super” Dan Azeez will face Frenchman Thomas Faure elsewhere on the card in conjunction with French promotion All Star Boxing to compete for the vacant EBU European light heavyweight title.
In the main event at Zenith – La Villette in the heart of the French capital, Rio 2016 gold medalist Tony Yoka faces fellow countryman Carlos Takam on home soil.
