Both teams continued to trade blows throughout the game, with the Diamondbacks tying the game again in the top of the fifth inning and the Cubs taking the lead once more in the bottom of the sixth inning.

The Cubs were unable to mount a comeback in the bottom of the ninth inning, giving the Diamondbacks a hard-fought victory.
While the offensive displays were certainly impressive, it was the pitching that truly stole the show. Diamondbacks pitcher Madison Bumgarner pitched seven solid innings, allowing just four runs on five hits while striking out six batters. Cubs starter Adbert Alzolay also had a strong outing, pitching six innings and allowing just three runs on five hits.
But it was the Diamondbacks bullpen that truly shone, with three relievers combining to pitch two scoreless innings to close out the game. Joakim Soria earned the save, striking out two batters in a perfect ninth inning.
