Do Nascimento, a Brazilian fighter with a 9-2 record, was making his LFA debut in this fight. Hodge, on the other hand, was coming off of a win in his LFA debut and was looking to continue his rise up the ranks of the light-heavyweight division.
The first round of the fight was a back-and-forth affair, with both fighters having their moments. Do Nascimento showed off his striking skills with some heavy punches and leg kicks, while Hodge used his wrestling to take Do Nascimento down to the mat and land some ground-and-pound strikes.
In the second round, Hodge continued to use his wrestling to control the fight, taking Do Nascimento down to the mat and landing some heavy shots. Do Nascimento tried to fight back from the bottom, but Hodge’s top control was too strong.
In the third round, Do Nascimento started to turn the tide, landing some heavy strikes and stuffing Hodge’s takedown attempts. He showed off his power with some heavy punches and kicks, but Hodge was able to weather the storm and make it to the end of the round.
In the end, the judges awarded the split decision victory to Hodge, with two judges scoring the fight 29-28 in his favor and one judge scoring it 29-28 for Do Nascimento. It was a close fight that could have gone either way, but Hodge’s wrestling and ground-and-pound proved to be the difference.
Aside from the main event, LFA 155 also featured several other exciting fights. In the co-main event, bantamweight prospect Charles Johnson scored a first-round TKO victory over Zach Underwood. Johnson landed a heavy right hand that dropped Underwood, and then followed up with some ground-and-pound strikes to secure the win.
Another highlight of the event was a featherweight bout between Austin Lingo and David Acosta. Lingo, a former LFA featherweight champion, dominated the fight from start to finish, landing heavy strikes and taking Acosta down to the mat at will. He eventually secured a rear-naked choke submission in the third round to earn the victory.
Overall, LFA 155 was a great showcase of some of the top up-and-coming talent in MMA. With exciting fights and high-level performances, the event proved once again why LFA is one of the top regional MMA promotions in the world.
